General

Roweam sources from around the world and pulls design inspiration from found objects. Each antique and found item is True Vintage, while the items we design and produce are New Vintage.

We work closely with local artisans to create our prototypes. Where our crafted pieces are made depends on finding the artisan for that specific piece based on materials & experience-from Rhode Island to Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Once the piece is assembled and a thorough quality check has been completed, we ship our prototypes to North Carolina to be replicated by craftsmen with generational experience.

We make every effort at Roweam to create products that last while keeping the environment at the forefront. We use recycled materials and organic fabrics for our upholstered goods. Each piece is shipped in sustainable materials and thoughtfully delivered to your home. We’re ever evolving and will continue to design and deliver with the planet in mind. Although we have a team of planet-minded individuals, we don’t know everything so if there's something you see or can suggest we're all ears and would love to hear from you. Drop us a line at hello@roweam.com

We’re working diligently to create a showroom so you can sit, test, and enjoy our New Vintage items and peruse exclusive True Vintage items. The plan is for our showroom to be located in Warren, Rhode Island. Be the first to know and stay updated on the renovations at A Bit Moore . We can’t wait!

Shipping & Returns

Roweam is a small design firm located on the east coast. While we would love to offer our unique products to the world, we only ship within the US at this time.

New Vintage pieces are made to order and crafted by our incredible team in North Carolina. Please allow 10-12 weeks as each item is carefully made by hand.

New Vintage or made-to-order items have a 10-12 lead time. True Vintage items will be promptly shipped out from our warehouse separately from our New Vintage items.

It’s best to always measure doorway widths and heights before proceeding with an order. Make sure you compare the width and height of your entrances and interior doorways where the piece will rest, with the dimensions of the item. Be sure to check all hallways, elevators and stairways prior to purchasing.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring all furniture purchased and delivered will fit in their home. Roweam will not accept a return, cancellation or exchange if your item does not fit. This is solely the customer's responsibility.

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please reach out to us within 24 hours at hello@roweam.com. Make sure to document the items and packaging with images upon receipt to include in your email. A dedicated member of our team will help you resolve your order issue as soon as possible.

Products

We don’t process sample orders online to keep our material waste low. As designers we understand how important it is to see and feel the material before you decide. Please reach out to us at hello@roweam.com  with the samples you’re loving, and we’ll be happy to help!

Materials

We designed the Bromley Sofa with the family in mind. The slipcover and cushion covers are removable and dry clean only.

We advise dusting your wooden furniture, art, decor and mirrors often and if necessary wiping with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth.

Our hardwood furniture is sealed for everyday use, however if a glass is left unattended water marks will appear. We’re gritty at Roweam and patina makes us happy. We make furniture to use, so sit and enjoy.

All soft goods including sofa cushions and slipcovers are recommended dry clean only. Do not machine wash.

You may use a steamer on medium to remove wrinkles. Do not iron.

Our fabrics are organic in nature which allow for movement. If you find your tight back sofa is wrinkling, a simple swipe of the hand and fabric tuck in the arm will remove those lines. Our cushion internals will settle over time. To keep them fresh it’s recommended to fluff and pat them to organize the contents.

For any soft good or upholstered items, it’s best to use a damp cloth to pat out the stain, do not rub. Never use harsh chemicals to remove stains. There are companies we recommend for eco-friendly fabric treating and stain removal services. Reach out for more details.

Our fabrics are organic in nature which allows for movement in color variation and texture. It’s important to remember when purchasing an item upholstered in fabric with higher piles, like velvet, mohair, and chenille that those variations will be highlighted. These fabrics are luxurious and pile inconsistencies are not a flaw should be embraced. The light illuminates the pile fibers which can appear as shading and scarring overtime and isn't faulty or defective. It is not uncommon for these fabrics to crush and distort over time with use, they are made to age. We use these fabrics often in our designs and cherish their unique qualities.

To keep these fabrics looking young, it’s recommended to use a velvet brush or vacuum with an upholstery attachment to reorganize the pile as you desire.

Never use an iron. You may use a steamer on low to remove wrinkles.

Do not steam or iron shearling.

It’s never recommended to use harsh chemicals on leather. Our leather is organic which allows for movement in color variation and texture. Frequently dusting leather will remove minute particles before they settle. A quick wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth will remove settled particles. Avoid handling leather items with dirty hands, oil and residue will transfer to leather easily. It’s recommended to remove dirt build-up once a year with a leather cleaner. It’s best practice to never leave a wet item on leather as it will distort the material.

Do not iron or steam.
